Idioms and Phrases and Words

Idiom:  A group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., raining cats and...
Phrase:  A group of words, which makes sense, but not complete sense. Or a group of related words without a Subject and a Verb.  E.g., The sun rises in the east.

  1. Boils down To reduce in size / condense 
  2. Boils up  No such phrase. 
  3. Boilerplate Something frequently encountered in the code or in documents. 
  4. Bootstrap  a summary of the process of a simple computer system activating a more complicated computer system.  Boot camp refers colloquially to military recruit training.

  8. To make ends meet
  9. A storm in a teacup: Showing a lot of worry or excitement over something trivial.
  10. Debut:  Its more attatictive to say "since its debut." instead of "since its start".
